“linked”short film website

In the fall of 2022 I worked as a technology production designer for my friend Abbi, who was creating a short film for her senior thesis at the time. i coded a static website for the thesis that is featured in the film.

"Linked" is an online “meet-cute” that develops into a deeper connection between the main characters, "GIRL" (played by Beatrix Zander) and "GUY" (played by Jacob Carton). However, the online anonymity presents challenges to their budding relationship. GIRL ditches a first date after being overcome with a wave of insecurity, self-loathing, and anxiety. She meets GUY on a online dating site called LINKED and they hit it off. Soon, he becomes a part of her daily routine, and their chemistry is undeniable. However, she finally overcomes her isolationary tendencies and tries to take their intimacy to the next level and meet in person, he ghosts her. Girl is haunted by thoughts of her perfect match and fears he may be a mere mirage, a reflection of her own desires and fears. Just as she puts the past behind her, he appears in a way she never imagined. Was it a dream? Or was it right in her face all along…

I was very excited to work on this project as this was the first time working on a film set! Additionally it was my first opportuinity to hardcode a website using Visual Code Studio. I was tasked to create a dating website that evoked an early 2000s Myspace aesthetic.
